The Urban Conservancy’s Urban Heroes of 2020

LCI was proud to be a part of our partner The Urban Conservancy’s 2020 Urban Heroes Celebration. The ceremony took place at the New Orleans Lakefront Airport’s Walnut Room on Friday, March 6, 2020. Five New Orleans citizens were presented with an award for their service in making the city a better place for all.

The Urban Heroes of 2020 included Bivian “Sonny” Lee, III, Founder and CEO, Son of a Saint, pictured second from left; The Honorable Calvin Johnson, retired Chief Judge of Orleans Parish Criminal District Court, pictured third from left; Joseph O. Evans III, Principal/Partner, Evans + Lighter Landscape Architecture, pictured third from right; Phyllis Jordan, Founder, PJ’s Coffee & Tea Company, pictured second from right; and Jenga Mwendo, Founder of Backyard Gardeners Network, former Deputy Director of Crescent City Community Land Trust, not pictured.

The event was kicked off with a rousing and humorous keynote speech by Peter Ricchiuti, A. B. Freeman School of Business Professor of Finance and host of NPR’s “Out to Lunch.”
