Where did you grow up? What was the best part about growing up there?
The first nine years of my life were spent in Stores, CT. I then lived most of my life in Madison, WI. The best part was living in a college town and having four distinct seasons. Madison has beautiful lakes and is a fun small city with lots of restaurants and breweries.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I really enjoy interacting with the members. I often get to speak in Spanish with many of them which provides an added sense of satisfaction and to be able to speak in their native tongue is extremely rewarding.
What does your ideal Saturday look like?
First, I would wake up and go golfing with my dad. We would then either go to or watch the Wisconsin Badger football game together (Wisconsin would win by a landslide). Finally, I would end the night with a steak dinner and red wine with my family and girlfriend.
What is your favorite app right now?
Stash! It’s an investing app that I’ve been really into recently and save for a lucky lotto ticket is my current plan for becoming a multibillionaire.
Where was your favorite vacation?
Fajardo, Puerto Rico. My family had a beachfront condo there when I was growing up. We would spend three months of the year every summer playing tennis and going to the beach on a regular basis.
What is the last book you read?
Hemingway’s Hurricane by Phil Scott. It’s a thrilling (and true) story about how Ernest Hemingway lived through what was then the most powerful hurricane to make landfall in the United States and how it personally affected the literary great.
Do you have a specialty dish that you cook?
Chicken Paprikash. It’s a Hungarian dish that I add my own spin to. It really hits the spot on a cold day, and I usually eat it over rice or couscous. I make it with lots of garlic, white wine, and imported paprika from Spain.
What object could you not live without?
My phone. I use it for everything!
What is your favorite outdoor activity?
Golfing. It’s something I love to do with my dad and is a great way to spend a day outdoors. It’s even better when I get a hole-in one, which I’ve done twice.
What’s your favorite restaurant?
Lombardino’s in Madison, WI. It’s an Italian restaurant that has some of the best food for the price that I’ve ever had. It was the last restaurant I ate at before moving to the south 5 years ago.
Do you have any hobbies?
Golf, tennis, making my own hot sauces, and riding and working on motorcycles.
What’s your favorite holiday?
Christmas! My family likes to get together and celebrate every year.
