Louisiana Comp Blog’s upcoming tech conference, Spotlight on Solutions, will bring together various stakeholders in the workers’ comp industry on June 15th in New Orleans to discuss how technology is changing comp and where we’re headed in the age of endless information.
Leading up to the conference, this Q&A series will allow attendees to learn more about our presenters and what they have to offer. Below, Lee Mashore, of CHSI Technologies, talks about his perspective on how software can help comp programs’ bottom line.
More information and registration for Spotlight on Solutions is available here.
Comp Blog: What is your educational background?
Mashore: I attended the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) and pursued an engineering degree.
Comp Blog: What positions did you hold prior to joining CHSI’s leadership?
Mashore: Prior to joining CHSI I had a technology consulting business that I started in college. CHSI became a customer of mine in 1998 and I decided to join the CHSI team in 2000.
Comp Blog: How long have you been Chief Product Officer at CHSI?
Mashore: I’ve been the CPO for about five years now. Prior to that I was the VP of IT.
Comp Blog: What makes CHSI different?
Mashore: CHSI started life as a workers’ compensation program administrator, so we have deep roots in workers’ compensation insurance processes and first hand knowledge of operating SIGs. We believe that shows well in our software products.
Comp Blog: What does your day-to-day look like in your job?
Mashore: I spend the majority of my time these days supporting business development and product development. A typical day could include product demos for prospects, meetings with my development team to review roadmap items and account management or implementation support. I also tend to travel a lot for business development and account management.
Comp Blog: What are the main points that you’d like to get across about Connections at Spotlight on Solutions when you sit on the software panel?
Mashore: That solutions like Connections are more affordable now than ever before. And, that by moving towards a software solution and away from spreadsheets and manual processes, program administrators can build a foundation to accelerate productivity that can pay real dividends to their staff and policyholders.
